1 Photo Shoot: Joe

Some pictures I took of Joe.  None of them are worked on.

The lens I was using had some dirt on it that I didn't realize was there, and that's what the black specks are.  I'll edit them out, but I haven't had them in photoshop yet.

My awesome little brother looking like a rock star...

0 Minimalism

So here's my first minimalist artwork.  I was asked to design a poster for an orchestra that I play in, and toiled two and a half hours over a poster that looked very amateur.  I was dissatisfied.  My Dad came over and said I should try something like Picasso, with a few lines.  This took me less than two minutes.

0 I Already Have A Post Called Maddison, So I'm At A Loss For A Title

So, I paid attention to detail and didn't take any cheap shortcuts, and it took me twice as long, but it was worth it...

0 Rain, and Deep Thoughts

Water is pouring down The Man’s back as he walks.  He has been walking, thinking Deep Thoughts.  The Man is turning right and is ascending a set of stairs onto a porch.  The Man is opening The Door, and is entering his house.  The Man is walking, walking, walking...twenty more steps into a sitting room.

The Man is obviously a man of precision.  His Rooms are square, as are his Halls.  Every Room is the same number of steps from the others, and the same distance from The Door.  The Man is described as eccentric by many, but he is a Modern Philosopher.  A Great Thinker.

The Man is sitting on a beaten sofa.  In spite of his dignified appearance and the precision of his architecture, he is poor, and his Furniture is trashed and old.  The Man doesn’t care.  The Furniture has meaning to him.

As the Man is sitting, he is thinking.  He is thinking Deep Thoughts about The Rain, and of The Street.  He is thinking of The People who are walking in the rain, and will not walk into a house, but rather will walk into--

The Man is baffled in his thoughts.  He is pouring coffee into a square cup.  He is sipping the coffee and resuming his thoughts.  He is wondering about The People That Will Not Walk Into Anywhere.

Momentarily, he is thinking about how lucky they are that they will not walk into anywhere.  He is thinking about when he walked into somewhere three days ago.  He is thinking about sharp objects, and the human skull, and the results when the two meet with force.

The Man is again thinking about The People Who Will Not Walk Into Anywhere.  He is lifting his cup to his mouth.

The Man has a new thought.  The People Who Will Not Walk Into Anywhere will not sit down to a warm drink either.  He is thinking that they are also The People Who Will Not Have A Warm Drink.

The Man is setting down his cup, and rising from the sofa.  He is walking, walking, walking...twenty more steps to The Door.

The Man is reaching for his coat and hat, but now he is stopping his arm.  He is reaching for the doorknob, and he is opening the door.  He is stepping onto the porch, and descending the stairs to the street.  He is turning left into the street.

The Man is thinking Deep Thoughts about The People Who Will Not Walk Into Anywhere as he is walking.

0 Beauty and the Beholder

A poster I made. During the process, I figured out how to make text glow. Grab a hat with a brim or some sunglasses, because I'm sure I'm going to overuse this technique.

0 Ipod Classic: Now in Color

I made this the other day starting with part of this image.

0 Irony

I'm not trying to make any point at all with this, I just had it floating around in my head so I wrote it down.

---

The Man stepped out of the Office and onto 35th street. The Man was clearly dedicated to the type of profession that utilized conference rooms and briefcases. The Man called a Taxi, and ordered the Driver to take him three blocks down, where he was due to give a presentation to several Bankers.

What a perfect society. Look what we, the Human Race, have accomplished. Look at what we have accomplished in the last 500 years. Our legal system is perfect. Crime is virtually nonexistent. Transportation is also perfect. The traffic moves as if it was programmed beforehand. Technology is at it's height. Everything I need to coordinate my Life is contained on a tiny device in my pocket. We, as a society, have indeed reached the pinnacle of our development.

The Man was nearing his destination. In a nearby window, a Sniper appeared. The Sniper shot at the Driver. The Taxi veered out of it's traffic lane and into oncoming traffic and an oncoming Compact Car. Almost immediately twelve cars were dented and their drivers unconscious. The Sniper walked away from the window and back to the Crime Lord who hired him for the job. The Man's device flew out of the Taxi and came to rest at the bottom of a Sewer.

How ironic.

0 Band

So I joined a new band. Here's a picture of us.

0 Earth

Here's my latest project. I posted it at full size so that it can be used as a wallpaper if you any of you so desire. It took me about 3.5 hours, mostly because I had to do the edges of the letters by hand. The final effect was well worth the time.

I noticed that some of the images don't enlarge when you click on them like they're supposed to. I don't know why. I'll see if I can fix it in the next post.

0 Fireproof Review

I finally saw Fireproof this past weekend. It was not what I expected it to be but I enjoyed it nonetheless. As a kindness to those of you who haven't seen it yet, I won't reveal any of the story, but I will say it was very intriguing and even suspenseful at times.

That said, I have to mention the lack of acting skill. Most of the supporting roles were played by amateur actors, and it's pretty obvious. The lead roles were quite good, however.

Story: 5/5
Acting: 2.5/5
Effects: 4/5
Intrigue: 4/5

Overall: 3.7/5

The original is on top, the edited version on the bottom. The whole process took me about a half hour. The photo was taken backstage at play practice the other day.
